REVIEW
Shocking, funny, timely, psychological thriller. This movie hits deep topics head on throughout the whole film. With all the racial injustice going on in the world right now, I feel like this is an important movie to see, even if it was made 5 years ago. Surprisingly, the violence, gore, and language are pretty tame compared to other R-rated films nowadays—especially R-rated horror movies—except for an extremely graphic brain surgery scene. There are some very diverse representations and positive messages in this film. I would highly recommend you watch this if you are old enough to handle some of the mature content.
PARENT GUIDE
Violence - 9/10
Smashing head in with ball and foot, deer getting hit by a car, shown alive, hurt, with bloody wound. Impalement with deer head. Bloody, graphic brain surgery. Slicing head, choking, shooting, stabbing, punching. A man shoots himself in the head with a shotgun. Bloody noses. Creepy, startling images.
Sex - 4/10
Kissing, sexual jokes, explicit sexual talk
Language - 8/10
52 uses of f*ck, 20 uses of s**t, uses of hell, b*tch, g*ddamn, and possibly more minor words. One use of the N word in a friendly tone.
Drinking/Drugs - 2/10
People are shown drunk and a character struggles with quitting smoking throughout the film.
Positive Messages - 6/10
A lot of diverse representations. This film tackles the big theme of racism in a very thought-provoking way.
