REVIEW
So this was quite an entertaining show. Though it isn't necessarily appropriate at all times. With the TV-14 rating, I thought it would be a good watcher and it was, but it has some content worse than some TV-MA shows. In fact, it's currently rated 16+. Once you finish this review, read the parents guide to find out more about what I mean. Overall this show was really good and I would recommend to mid to older teens that like things that are thrilling and deal with high school themes.
PARENTS GUIDE
Violence - 8/10
There are a lot of daring challenges that put teens in peril including jumping off of cliffs into water, walking on a rickety metal plank high in the air, and walking blind folded on an abandoned train track that drops into a rocky river. There are a couple glimpses of past years' Panic games and show things such as a girl getting swarmed by bees, a guy getting chased by a dog, a girl being buried alive, and a guy falling through a snake-filled building's unstable floorboards; we see his bloodied impaled body soon after (doesn't focus on the impalement that much so it's not especially disturbing, though if you are sensitive to things like that, then it definitely could be). Violent acts committed by a corrupt cop including beating a young man almost to death, blood on hands and body and blackmailing people threatening things. A man's corpse is eaten by a tiger. Talk of a teen shooting himself in Russian Roulette. Teens get bullied.
Sex - 5/10
A couple passionate kissing scenes, other not so passionate (meaning they aren't like making out). A couple sexual references including a guy saying that someone's mom screams his name every night. A few intimate conversations between teens, some can get inappropriate. One implied sex scene (it's implied, nothing is shown), one almost sex scene. Crushes, cute romantic moments, and complicated relationships. A poster of a bare-breasted woman in the background of one scene (not in focus).
Language - 9/10
Frequent uses of f--k, s--t, and their variations. Other uses of b-tch, hell, damn, and ass (and it's variations). Language not as bad as other 16+ Prime Originals, but it sure doesn't lack it. Most of the cursing takes place in scenes that feature Ray and his friends.
Drinking/Drugs - 8/10
Teens and adults drink and do illegal drugs such as marijuana and meth.
Positive Messages - 2/10
There are a lot of bad decisions made in this show. Though there are some positive things as well such as friendship and taking care of younger siblings.
