REVIEW
Solid, meta, fun, gory "re-quel." This movie was a good one. In my personal opinion, I would rate this as the second best film in the scream franchise. For those of you who would want to go and see it or take your kids to it, just know it is extremely violent and profane, much worse than its predecessors. With over a half a dozen BRUTAL kills and 100+ F-bombs, this film ticks it up a notch. On the bright side, the character development was phenomenal and the acting was great. I would highly recommend this film for existing Scream fans.
PARENT GUIDE
Violence - 10/10
Very gruesome deaths, particularly by knife. Stabbings, shootings, burnings, you name it. The camera doesn't shy away from any of the blood or gore making this far more realistic and horrifying than its predecessors. There was one point where a character was sliced through both cheeks, stabbed approximately 22 times, got their throat slit, and shot in the chest and face three times, resulting in blown-out brains. This movie isn't for the faint of heart and to put this in perspective, I would rate the original two scream films a 14+, the third film a 13+ and the fourth film a 15+.
Sex - 4/10
Two kissing scenes (same and opposite sex) and some sex-related dialogue. Nothing too inappropriate or explicit.
Language - 10/10
100+ uses of f*ck, multiple uses of s**t, a*shole, b*tch, g*ddamn, and insults.
Drinking/Drugs - 5/10
Teen drinking and smoking. One party scene.
Positive Messages - 6/10
A lot of great role models and diverse representations. Team fighting against evil killers.
